BOXHALL opens at Liverpool Street – a very impressive new choice for casual meals, after-work drinks/dining and celebratory events!

BOXHALL is a new all-day dining and drinks venue that has just opened, transforming the old Met Shopping Arcade in Liverpool Street facing the railway station. It’s a very accessible location, discreet enough that passing tourists will probably walk straight past and miss it, which is good for the rest of us!

A lively evening at Boxhall, Liverpool Street

Structured around the length of the former shopping arcade, with entrances at both ends, it has been restored to a premium finish with al-fresco dining tables down the centre and 14 kitchens with counters (food court style) serving an excellent range of food and drink. The glass roof to the arcade has been restored and looks stunning, as do the original stone floors.

The venue includes two decent-sized bars with their own seating areas, as well as a balcony where bands or other performers can entertain you while eating and drinking, with special events planned on an ongoing basis. There is a rotating chef residency, and an excellent selection of both local food companies as well as larger names like Gaucho. It has long opening hours, with breakfast from 7am and late closing at midnight daily, and seating for 266 covers.

BOXHALL is sister venue to the well-known BOXPARK establishments, for example in Shoreditch, but has been designed with a different focus and making a great feature out of the old TFL-owned shopping arcade. There are plans to build a roof terrace which could become a must-visit destination with fantastic night-time views of the City skyline.

Overall, I was highly impressed on my visit to the official opening and already have a table booked for a special dinner this weekend with friends. Whether you are passing by and need a quick meal, are entertaining visitors to the City, or just want to soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere, BOXHALL is a great addition to the Bishopsgate and Liverpool Street area.
